Makarska Weather – Central Dalmatia’s sunshine capital

Makarska is the sunshine capital of Croatia’s central Dalmatia region and receives around 2400 hours of sunshine per year. Temperatures during the hottest months of June, July, and August regularly reach the 30C mark and the sun will be out for around 11 hours per day. The winter temperatures in Makarska are still warm at around 10C making it comparable to a warm British spring. Rainfall during the summer months is practically unheard of and tends to stick to the winter and early spring months.

 

A summer holiday in Makarska comes with guaranteed hot sunshine. From June through September the temperature will not usually dip below the 25C mark. Makarska beach is very popular with holiday makers as the water temperature is perfect for swimming or partaking in the many water sports that are popular in this area. April, October and November are the cooler months but the temperature in Makarska will still hover around the 18C mark. Holiday makers wishing to explore other areas such as Tucepi, Split and Trogir may wish to visit during these cooler months. The summer evenings are pleasantly warm and perfect for open air dinners in the charming restaurants in Makarska.

 

Easter family breaks in Makarska are a very popular due to the warm temperatures of 18C during April. Low cost off peak holidays to Makarska have also been growing in popularity as holiday makers take advantage of the mild climate during the Christmas and New Year season. December still has a warm 12C temperature and the sun will be out for around five hours per day. The spring months sees this part of Croatia awash with vibrant colours as the flowers begin to bloom in the mountain region and the weather once again becomes very warm.
