Lovran Things To Do

Lovran is home to pleasant sandy and pebbly beaches that have recently gained a Blue Flag award for the quality of water and safety standards. The beaches are suitable for couples and families and are always popular for sunbathing and swimming in the warm waters.

 

There are some excellent restaurants in Lovran with dishes to suit all tastes. The fish and seafood dishes are the freshest imaginable and the local Croatian dishes are mouth watering. There are also numerous little taverns and cellar restaurants serving traditional home cooked meals.

 

There are plenty of bars, discos and open air music festivals available in Lovran that become the focal point once the evening draws in. The locals are extremely friendly and will welcome you in like old friends. For an altogether more vibrant nightlife head to nearby Opatija to sample the music bars and nightclubs with late dancing.

 

If you can drag yourself away from the beaches there are plenty of sports available in Lovran. Mountain biking through Ucka Nature Park is very popular. Sports activities can also include fishing, paragliding, tennis and sea kayaking.

 

Culture and sightseeing activities in Lovran should include the historical old town that has retained its character and picture postcard atmosphere. There is also the 12^th century Church of St George, which is a definite photo opportunity. Don’t miss visiting the numerous old taverns around the old port.

 

A visit from Lovran to nearby Opatija should not be missed and makes the perfect alternative to the relaxed atmosphere of Lovran. The town is home to some fantastic, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Festivals and concerts are held throughout the year and spectacular Angiolina Park is well worth a visit. Don’t miss the views of the North Strand from the port area before strolling along the 12km seaside promenade.
