Lopud Things To Do

Lopud boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. The long horse shoe beach at Sunj is split into two halves; one for naturists and one for those who prefer not to show it all. There are also the sandy secluded beaches on the nearby island of Kolocep, which make a great alternative to the busy Lopud beach.

 

There is nice selection of restaurants and cafes in Lopud most of which are situated by the sea-front. Traditional Croatian dishes feature heavily on the menu and if you are a lover of fresh seafood you will be in heaven. Many of the restaurants are open air where you can dine in the warm night air to the gentle sound of the nearby waves.

 

The nightlife in Lopud is a low key friendly affair featuring sea-front bars and taverns. There are terrace bars where you can enjoy a quiet drink after dining on delicious Croatian food. The bars and pubs by the shore are the ideal location to mix with the locals and listen to some live music.

 

Exploring the surrounding area should not be missed and there are plenty of day trips available from Lopud. You can easily spend a day in the historic and vibrant Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is full of ancient sites, international restaurants, shopping opportunities and colourful bars. A boat trip to the nearby island of Kolocep will give you the chance to explore the secluded bays and beaches, and sample some of the islands bars and restaurants.

 

There are a number of activities available on Lopud if you feel like being energetic. Canoeing and kayaking trips offer one of the best ways to view the Croatian scenery and there are also opportunities to cycle around the island. The warm sea temperatures are perfect for swimming and snorkelling, and the marine life is spectacular.
