Holidays in Lindos – Famous picturesque Rhodes hillside village
Lindos is in the middle of the east coast of Rhodes, 33 miles south of Rhodes Town, 37 miles south of the airport and 2 miles south of Vlicha Bay. Holidays in Lindos are unique. Lindos is acknowledged as the prettiest village on Rhodes, a photogenic picturesque hillside village with small whitewashed cube houses in a jumble of narrow pedestrianised streets overlooking two scenic bays. Lindos is an official Greek monument and is protected from cars, excessive disco noise, and inappropriate development. It is the most famous village on Rhodes.

Lindos Holidays – Three popular scenic bays
Lindos holidays can choose between 3 nearby Lindos beaches. Lindos Bay is pretty and very popular, with good safe swimming. Vlicha is another good and quieter beach to the north. To the south there is St Paul’s Bay with clear water enclosed by rocks. Lindos beaches have a modest selection of beachside tavernas and plenty of opportunity for watersports including waterskiing, scuba diving and paragliding. The resort of Vlicha, with its sandy beach, is a more conventional resort. Lindos nightlife is quite lively relative to the size of the village, with a range of restaurants, bars and even a few discos slightly out of town.

Holidays in Lindos – A unique setting
The focus of Lindos holidays are the houses and courtyards from the 16th to 18th centuries, and the cobbled narrow lanes lined with small shops, bars, tavernas and even rooftop restaurants.  Lindos holidays also share the site of the acropolis, probably the most famous ancient ruins on Rhodes. Medieval walls built in the century by the Knights of St John add to the picturesque ensemble. Romans, Byzantines, Turks and Italians have all left their mark on the architecture of Lindos. Visiting Lindos will not be complete without walking up to the medieval walls contouring the hills and the ancient acropolis and amphitheatre. The acropolis and the beach can be reached on foot or by donkey (Lindos streets can be steep). Buses run from Lindos to Rhodes Town and resorts to the south. Popular Lindos excursions include historic Rhodes Town, the long sandy bay at Tsampika beach, and boat trips to Symi Island and Marmaris in Turkey.
