Letojanni Holidays
Letojanni Holidays - Ideally situated for family relaxation in the sun
Perfectly located for a relaxing family beach holiday, Letojanni stands on Sicily’s beautiful Eastern Riviera, overlooking the Ionian Sea. The resort town was once a small fishing village, but is now very popular in the summer months with local families and international tourists. Out of season Letojanni can be quiet, offering the perfect spot to take in the views and relax. Sicily’s most famous resort, Taormina, is just a ten minute drive away, in case you are seeking more lively entertainment. There is a regular bus service between Taormina and Letojanni which takes no more than 20 minutes. Transfer time from Catania Airport (50 km away) to Letojanni is just over an hour.
Holidays in Letojanni - Great choice of family hotels
Letojanni boasts many hotels and holiday apartments around its centre, as well as accommodation just outside of town around the foothills of the Peloritani Heights, which offer spectacular views. There is a wide choice of restaurants, bars and cafes in town, an old fishing harbour, and seafront gelateries and bars, which are ideal for evening entertainment. Shopping along Letojanni’s central street may also appeal. The beach is mostly stony with stretches of sand, and has all the amenities required for a family stay, including watersports equipment. There is plenty of old Sicilian charm to be found here - painted fishing boats, quaint streets of the old town, and of course great local dishes to sample.
Letojanni Holidays - On the doorstep of Taormina and Mount Etna
Taormina is often described as the Monte Carlo of Sicily and as a neighbour of Letojanni - just 5 km away - is a fascinating place for holiday visitors in the area to explore and enjoy. It’s a beautiful, romantic spot, which is believed to have inspired awe-struck resident DH Lawrence to pen Lady Chatterley’s Lover in the 1920s. In Taormina you’ll find intricate winding streets and alleyways, medieval buildings, hidden piazzas and shady gardens. All this with the glowing mass of Mount Etna in the distance.
