Holidays in Lemesos combine a likeable cosmopolitan Cypriot town with a popular beach resort in the centre of the south coast of Cyprus, 25 miles west of Larnaca airport and 35 miles east of Paphos airport. Lemesos Beach Holidays – Plenty of restaurants and varied lively nightlife
Most Lemesos holiday accommodation is to the east of the town and close to Lemesos beach. There are several well-equipped Lemesos beaches with good safe conditions for swimming. Dassoudi beach is the main Lemesos beach and has dark sand and offers plenty of watersports. Other Lemesos beaches include Armonia beach and Governor’s beach. For a quieter Lemesos beach try Lady’s Mile to the west of Lemesos harbour or Curium beach. Lemesos holidays tend to focus on the Yermasogea area close to Lemesos beach, where you will find a huge selection of bars and plenty of Cypriot cuisine among the huge choice of restaurants. There are several superior restaurants around the old port. Lively nightlife is a major feature of holidays in Lemesos. Most Lemesos holiday nightlife is centred on the Yermasogea area but you will find discos and nightclubs in most parts of the town with plenty of live music and a nice mix of partying tourists and friendly local Cypriots. If you are lucky your Lemesos holidays will coincide with the colourful carnival or the boisterous Wine Festival. Holidays in Lemesos could include a wine tasting in one of the vineyards in the pretty foothills of the Troodos Mountains.

Holidays in Lemesos offer several modest local sights that include folk art and archaeology museums, art galleries and the 14th century castle next to the port, where Richard the Lionheart married Queen Berengaria in 1191. Holidays in Lemesos are ideally placed for visiting the Troodos mountains with its gorgeous villages, excellent walking trails and refreshingly cool mountain air. Holidays in Lemesos should include a visit to 15th century Kolossi castle and the ancient city of Kourion with its magnificent theatre, one of the most important archaeological sites in Cyprus.
