Beaches
Holidays in Lefkas, the fourth largest of the Ionian Islands, will enjoy some spectacular beaches. The bay at Vassiliki is world famous among windsurfers and the beaches at Kathisma and Porta Katsiki are regarded as among the best sandy beaches of the Ionian Islands.

Nightlife
Your choice of nightlife on Lefkas can either consist of a quiet night at local tavernas or the buzzing bars in Nidri. You can find some excellent traditional plate smashing options in Lefkas Town or head to the busy tavernas at Ligia for a party atmosphere that lasts into the small hours.

Excursions
Take a ride on a catamaran and explore the neighbouring islands or simply relax on the deck of a boat as you drift around Lefkas. Many of the cruises and excursions from Lefkas will supply food and drink for the day, and you can watch the yachts sail by the island of Scorpions, the family home of Aristotle Onassis.

Sailing
Ideal for sailing holidays, Lefkas is home to two international sailing centres where you can hire dinghies and drift around the coastline. If you are experienced enough you can hire a yacht or hire a yacht with a skipper and spend the day exploring the coastline and neighbouring islands.

Restaurants
There are some excellent tavernas along the waterfront, and the restaurants in Lefkas serve some of the freshest seafood that can be found. Dishes range from international to traditional Greek cuisine and you can sample the island’s own Vertzamo wine or of course the traditional Ouzo.

Shopping
Head to Lefkas Town and spend some cash on perfumes, souvenirs, handmade goods and designer clothes. There is a good range of surf wear available at the little villages around Vassiliki bay, and you will find the prices a lot less expensive than back in the UK.
