Le Morne Weather

Le Morne in southwest Mauritius is a year-round destination, and enjoys an enviable tropical climate, ideal for a relaxing beach holiday. The best time to visit Le Morne is during British summertime and into late autumn, when there is plenty of sunshine, high temperatures and the weather is relatively dry. The resort sees a rainy season during the winter, which brings higher humidity levels and increased temperatures.

 

The Mauritian winter runs from July to September, and sees good conditions, with average temperatures of 22C - 23C, and 6 hours of sunshine each day. Humidity during this time is reduced, and the sea temperature remains very warm at 23C - 24C. Temperatures start to heat up in November, with averages reaching 26C - 28C from December to April, and there is a moderate level of humidity. The sun shines during this time for 7 hours each day, and the water temperature rises to 28C. As the west coast of Mauritius sees quite strong winds, conditions are ideal for the many water sports on offer here.

January to April sees the rainy season, with the resort receiving as much as 262mm of rainfall during the wettest month of February. Humidity levels increase, and there is still at least 7 hours of sunshine. Scuba divers should head to Le Morne during this period, when the waters are at their clearest, whilst those looking to enjoy deep-sea fishing trips experience the best conditions from October to April.
