Lazio Region Weather - Ideal climate for sports and sightseeing
Lazio weather, like its neighbouring regions, has a continental climate ensuring fine, unbroken sunshine through summer and mild winter months. The hot and dry summer days last from mid April until September with rainfall occurring only in isolated spells evenly distributed throughout the region. There are variations in temperature inland where both hotter and overcast weather is possible throughout the year and humidity is usually restricted to the coast. For many visitors autumn is the ideal time for a visit to Lazio with continuing fine weather and comfortably warm temperatures. Severe weather patterns and thunderstorms are rare.
Weather in Lazio Region - A fine and dry summer season
The summer weather of Lazio region is settled and stable with cloudless skies and high temperatures of 30c powered by hot dry air arriving from North Africa. Up to 11 hours of daily sunshine is enjoyed, staying light until 9pm and evenings are pleasantly mild. Daytime breezes offer some respite from the heat in coastal resorts although winds can become strong at times. The city of Rome can feel uncomfortable on hot days and many locals seek refuge in outlying hilly towns and villages at weekends.
Lazio Region Weather - Temperate winter climate
During winter the climate becomes unsettled with rainfall and cloud common although regular sunshine will still occur and activities and sightseeing can be undertaken with minimal interruption from the elements. Lazio weather produces mild winter temperatures of 13 - 15c with rainfall at its heaviest in November particularly at altitude. Lazio's beach resorts receive around 4 hours of clear sunshine a day and reasonably low persistent rainfall. With a temperate winter climate the area has lush and colourful scenery that offers wonderful benefits to both agriculture and tourism.
