Lastminute.com is to provide the visitors to the Aer Lingus website access to over 40,000 hotel properties throughout the world. The deal will expand Lastminute.com’s expanding white label programme, with existing deals for Tesco.com and BAA already in place for other travel services. This latest deal will enable Aer Lingus site visitor’s access to hotels via Lastminute.com’s parent company the Sabre network, Lastminute.com itself, Travelocity and Medhotels.
Aer Lingus are the latest company to sign up on the partnership programme with Lastminute.com, joining the likes of other established names such as WAYN.com on the programme, which launched in the summer of 2007. Lastminute.com vice president for distribution and business development, Vic Darvey, said: “Aer Lingus’ approach, together with our market leading merchandising capabilities, will allow us to see significant growth in this sector and we aim to build for them a leading hotels programme focusing on personalisation and relevance at point of sale.”
Darvey had previously commented that lastminute.com was keen to add more small businesses looking to retail travel products online, stating that the technology was so simple to use that a new travel site could be set up within four hours. Aer Lingus was offer cheap flights from Dublin, Shannon and Cork to destinations across Europe
