Lastminute.com will start to add hotel reviews on its website written by users before the end of 2008. The lifestyle and travel site will however, initially add reviews from other existing websites before refining their own content. Lastminute.com CEO Ed Kamm confirmed the move but stressed that their user content would offer a refreshing alternative to that available on the existing review sites like TripAdvisor.
Lastminute.com users will also find that they it will be easier to find reviews that are more applicable to themselves, as appose to TripAdvisor, where reviews cannot be sorted by attributes. Lastminute.com reviews can be sorted by type of traveller who has posted the review, the purpose of trip reviewed or even to only view reviews written by travellers from a certain country.
"People from different countries have very different perspectives. What a Spanish or French traveller rates as a five-star might be very far from what an American thinks is five-star".
