Las Palmas Reviews
Our review of Las Palmas...
Away from the lively tourist scene in the south of Gran Canaria lies the cosmopolitan city of Las Palmas. Bustling with life and boasting a rich and fascinating history, the capital of Las Palmas is full of traditional Spanish flavour, with a colourful cityscape filled with beautiful colonial architecture, inviting cafes and tapas bars, a busy seaport and relaxing town beaches. Highly recommended for those looking to explore the Canarian culture and heritage, this vibrant city offers plenty for the visitor, from a huge choice of authentic dining, entertainment options and shopping, to a vast array of cultural events and numerous museums.
Our customer reviews of Las Palmas...
"I have been to Las Palmas a number of times and love it! Great place to wander around - see the historic old town and choose a cafe to relax in for a couple of hours. A world away from the popular beach resorts, Las Palmas is the place to go to really see the true Gran Canaria."
Mr C Bellwood, Essex, UK
"We did a day trip from our hotel in Play del Ingles, and I found it to be a very authentic Spanish place, with so much to see and do. We had lunch, went to a museum and went to the famous department store. A nice day out and a change from our resort."
Mr & Mrs N Herron, Margate, UK
"Do visit the capital of Las Palmas if you go to Gran Canaria. We learnt so much from the museum we went to, it's a very interesting place if you want a spot of culture on your holiday."
Ms Ruth O'Toole, Swansea, Wales
"The north of the island is very different from the south. We hired a car and visited Las Palmas on our tour of the island, as someone had recommended it - we were really glad we did. Exotic city with great shopping and excellent restaurants - we even got to try out our Spanish!"
Miss D Pinner, London, UK
