Holidays In Las Vegas - Past, present and future
Originally part of Mexico, Las Vegas became the city we know it as today in 1911. Gambling was legalised in the 1930s in the city with the opening of Bugsy Siegel's Flamingo Hotel on what would become the Las Vegas Strip in 1946. In the 1970s, Siegfried and Roy were introduced to the Frontier Hotel, the first magicians to astonish Las Vegas with their larger-than-life performance. Vegas is now host to over a dozen such magic acts, including Penn and Teller and Lance Burton, meaning you will never fail to be astounded. The opening of The Mirage in 1989 began the era of mega-resort casinos starting a movement away from downtown Las Vegas towards today’s exhilarating Las Vegas Strip. The most famous hotels are located here, many of these hotels incorporating thousands of rooms and expansive casino areas amidst a dazzling backdrop. The Luxor features lifts that ascend the spectacular Egyptian surroundings giving a simple lift ride the full Las Vegas treatment.

Gambling In Las Vegas
The main attractions in Las Vegas are the casinos. Enjoy a flutter on the penny slots or play it big with high-stake table games in private salons, whatever it is you’re looking for, you'll find it here. Casinos, naturally, continue to draw tourists to Las Vegas, but there is much more to Las Vegas than gambling. Vegas is also home to attractions of a very different sort, from the choreographed musical fountains at the Bellagio to the Liberace Museum. Las Vegas is also superbly family-friendly. Appealing to kids, hotels have spent millions developing technically sophisticated indoor amusement rides such as the Race for Atlantis. Something for everybody, Las Vegas truly is a holiday experience like no other.
