Lara Beach - visit the Taurus mountains and Duden waterfalls
From Laura Beach it’s easy to explore the Taurus mountains which run parallel to Turkey’s south coast. Plate tectonics - the European and African plates colliding - have created this rugged 260 km wide range which provides walkers and adventurers with the perfect playground for hiking, rafting or caving.
The Bridged Canyon National Park (Köprülü Kanyon Milli Park) is a good day trip from Antalya. Here you can explore the ruins of a Roman theatre, see the ancient city walls, and the Temple of Zeus in the mountain town of Selge.
Just a few kilometres from Lara Beach are the Duden waterfalls, a spectacular cliff-side water feature.

Visitors to Lara Beach can enjoy an extensive sandy Mediterranean beach, bars and pavement cafes, and traditional music and belly dancing in the evening. At nearby Antalya, there is an ancient city to explore, dating back to the Bronze Age, and boasting architectural traces of Byzantine, Roman and Seljuks. The old quarter, Kaleici, featuring quaint Turkish and Greek houses, is well worth a visit, and there is a marina, and a museum to take in. At Antalya you’ll also find great shopping - bustling bazaars and markets selling leather goods, clothes, jewellery and traditional woven carpets.
