The nearest Lagos beach is next to the 17th century fort. A further series of Lagos beaches are found on the promontory to the south. The main Lagos beach is the magnificent Meia Praia to the east; a long wide well-equipped stretch of sand and shingle connected with Lagos by bus and ferry.
