Our review of La Pineda...
Next door to the lively and fast-paced Salou, the more relaxed resort of La Pineda offers a family-friendly destination on the Costa Dorada, still close to all the major attractions but with a quieter laid-back atmosphere. With its sandy beach, excellent facilities and choice of restaurants and evening entertainment, La Pineda remains a popular option for those with children, as well as couples wanting a quieter beach holiday with plenty to do. Top of the list on a holiday here is a couple of days at the popular theme park, Universals' Port Aventura, or a trip to the resorts' water park, Aquopolis.

"We prefer La Pineda to Salou as it is quieter with a nice atmosphere, not quite so touristy. It goes without saying that it is so great for us with children - they love the beach, and the theme park provides a nice few days’ amusement. We went in peak season during the summer holidays, which was very busy; maybe we'll try earlier in the year next time to miss the crowds at Port Aventura."

"La Pineda is highly recommended for families and couples, as there is a good mix of things to do and lovely beaches, but without the crazy nightlife. We hired a car and visited the little towns and villages in the Costa Dorada region and inland - very Spanish and traditional."

"We loved the fact that you can get buses all over the area, so we got a chance to really explore in our two weeks, as well as relax on the beach in the resort. Found them very regular and a cheap way to get around, although we got the train to Barcelona - a must-see if you like cities".
