This resort is pleasantly quiet during the day but is within walking distance of Bahia Del Duque, with its beautiful beaches and designer shopping outlets. In fact there’s a great beachfront walk - perfect for daytime or evening strolling - to take you from La Caleta past Del Duque, along to Playa De Las Americas and on to Playa de Los Christianos beyond. For golfers, the 27-hole, Adeje Golf Course, home of the 2003 Spanish Open, is just a kilometre from La Caleta, and thanks to the clement conditions virtually all year round, golfing in picture postcard surroundings is bound to be a hit. The course opened in 1998 and has rapidly become one the most popular in Tenerife.
La Caleta - visit Mount Teide and explore surrounding fertile valleys
A hire car will allow you to venture beyond pretty La Caleta to explore the volcanic island of Tenerife with its impressive range of altitudes and localised micro-climates. Mount Teide, at 3,718 kilometres, is the tallest peak in Spain, and dominates one of the most striking National Parks the country has to offer. This is 25 km from La Caleta.
