Weather in Koutouloufari - Hot and sunny
The village of Koutouloufari lies above the resort of Hersonissos on the north coast of Crete, just 25km east of the capital, Heraklion, and 32km north-west of Agios Nikolaos. Like other resorts on the island, it experiences a typically-Mediterranean climate, and enjoys a longer-than-average tourist season that runs from April to October.

 

Koutouloufari Weather - Beautiful spring days
Spring in Koutouloufari sees lovely warm weather, with April highs of 18C and 8 hours of sunshine, perfect for walks and bike rides, and sightseeing along the north coast before the temperatures start to rise. May sees average daytime highs of 21C, and by June, the village is enjoying temperatures of 26C, and as much as 12 hours of daily sunshine. Days are ideal for heading down to Hersonissos and relaxing on the beach, or venturing to quieter bays and coves nearby. In the peak season months of July and August, the village is basking in highs of 27C, and the high humidity is tempered by the strong northerly 'meltemi' winds that blow from the mainland. Rainfall is virtually non-existent in Koutouloufari at this time, with less than 4mm of monthly rain in July and August. The waters off the coast reach a very warm 25C, ideal for swimming and water sports along the beach and with a night-time temperature of 20C, evenings can be spent outside eating and drinking in the local tavernas.      

 

Weather in Koutouloufari - Winters still see mild climate
September continues to be hot and sunny, with average daytime highs of 25C, with the season beginning to wind down in October when the temperatures drop to 21C. There is still an average of 7 hours of daily sunshine; however the rainfall increases dramatically, with the village seeing 90mm during the month. Winters continue to be wet, with January receiving 169mm of rainfall, although temperatures remain mild at this time, just dipping to 13C in January and February.
