Konacik Holidays
Many new villas and holiday apartments are available for rental in the peaceful olive groves and burgeoning resort of Konacik. This up-and-coming village is found midway between the cosmopolitan town of Bodrum, 4 km away, and beautiful Bitez beach, also 4 km. All nearby beaches offer great water sports facilities and many have been awarded the Blue Flag, so are safe for family enjoyment. Overseas visitors have long flocked the Bodrum Peninsula on Turkey’s Aegean coast, attracted to the sandy beaches, clear waters, culturally rich cities, pretty fishing villages, and countless sites of historic interest. Konacik would make a great base for exploring the coast and inland scenery around Bodrum. The airport is 30 minutes away by car.

Konacik - day trips to larger resorts for a real taste of Turkey
Konacik is a quiet but growing resort - an ideal spot for relaxing beside the pool before heading down to the beach, or seeking out historic landmarks. The seaside town of Bodrum is a well-established resort on Turkey‘s western coast, and teeming with history. It’s home to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the crumbling remains of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. There’s also a 15th Century Castle of St Peter, built by the Crusaders, which is perched above the town between its two harbours. This now houses a museum. The lively, traditional resort of Gumbet is also close by, with a great beach and thriving nightlife. Similarly Marmaris, a family-geared beach town, has a busy promenade with many late night bars to enjoy. If you’re interested in watersports, it’s easy to arrange scuba-diving, windsurfing and jet-skiing via local operators found all over the area.

Konacik - fresh produce means great local cuisine
If you’re staying in Konacik make the most of the wonderful fresh produce for which the Bodrum Peninsula is famous. Try Turkish mezes, which will typically include  stuffed vine leaves, fried cheese, rice, and lamb and fish dishes. Meat kebabs are a speciality and excellent seafood is plentiful in the restaurants of Bodrum and Marmaris.
