Kioni Weather

Kioni is perhaps one of the most beautiful places on Ithaca with its famous horseshoe bay and the clear blue skies and summer sunshine complement it perfectly.  In the peak summer months of July and August the temperatures can climb to 30C and above but it never seems too hot with the warm coastal breeze. Rainfall is rare indeed in the summer and for holiday makers who are looking for lots of hot summer sun and a turquoise sea then Kioni is an ideal place to be. The sea temperature is warm at around 25C and is perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Summer in Kioni and Ithaca starts in May when the temperature hits 23C and the sunshine hours start to increase to an average of around 9 hours per day.  The temperature steadily rises to around 30C in the peak months of July and August with an average of 12 sunshine hours per day. With the beaches and secluded coves that can be found around Kioni this is perfect beach weather for sunbathing and swimming. The coastal breezes ensure that humidity levels are moderate and that the heat is manageable in this perfect spot on the Island of Ithaca. Sea temperatures also remain warm at 25C making for great swimming and snorkelling.

An Easter holiday in Kioni will find the temperature at around 18C and with the sun in the sky for an average of 8 hours it is an ideal place for that spring break. There may be showers during the spring but these are mostly short-lived and only serve to enhance the smell of the olive groves that can be found on Ithaca. Autumn sun in Kioni is also popular with temperatures staying at an average of 22C through October and even a perfectly respectable 17C in November!
