Kilifi Weather

Unspoilt white sand beaches, lush tropical scenery, and a climate that is nothing short of spectacular make Kilifi a ‘hard to beat’ holiday destination. Kilifi boasts an average annual 30C temperature with eight hours of sunshine per day for most of the year. Kilifi is located on tje south-east coast of Kenya giving this area a tropical climate with a certain amount of rainfall. Rainfall does occur from April until early June and then during October and November. However it will never rain continuously and short lived showers are normal during these periods.

 

Holiday makers who love high temperatures should consider the months of February and March when temperatures have been known to hit the 36C mark. However, there is very little variation in the temperature in Kilifi throughout the year. Water temperatures will rarely fall below 25C making the Indian Ocean perfect for swimming, scuba diving and the numerous water sports this area of Kenya is famous for. Evening temperatures in Kilifi will also be warm with an average 23C throughout the year, and light clothing will be all that is required.

 

Kilifi Weather – Beautiful weather all year round
September to April is considered the best period in which to take a holiday in Kilifi. During this time the temperature will hover just over the 30C mark, humidity levels will be relatively low, and there will be less chance of rainfall. April and May will see the heaviest amounts of rainfall in Kilifi while February will be the driest month of the year. Kilifi has the perfect climate in which to explore Kenya’s safari parks, beach resorts and vibrant cities such as Mombasa no matter what time of the year holiday makers choose to visit.
