Many more excellent beaches and resorts are nearby and with a little effort it is quite easy to find really quiet coves and there are stretches of totally unspoilt wild rocky coastline and cliffs. Chania town, a 30-minute drive, is a great asset for Kefalas holidays with its Old Town; an interesting picturesque neighbourhood of narrow paved lanes, flower-decked houses, tastefully renovated buildings, attractive gardens, walls, castles, churches, monasteries, ancient sites, art galleries and museums, with plenty of atmosphere until late at night.
