Kaminia Beach holidays – Popular with turtles too!
Kaminia beach is set on huge Mounda Bay which continues to Cape Mounda. Kaminia beach holidays are based in the extreme south of the island of Kefalonia, close to Katelios which is 5 miles west of Skala, 25 miles from Argostoli and 20 miles from the airport. Holidays at Kaminia beach are for those who put beautiful beach first and commercial facilities second. Kaminia beach is one of three superb relatively remote beaches in the area that virtually run one into the other to provide miles of fine sand and excellent swimming. Their claim to fame is that this is the most important protected area for nesting turtles that also enjoy the fine soft pale sand! The turtles keep the area extremely unspoilt and uncommercialised, with just a few simple beach cafes and no big building allowed around the turtle nesting area.
Kaminia Beach – A beach lover’s dream
Kaminia beach runs into Mounda beach which is nearly two miles long. Holidays at Kaminia beach are very popular with families with children and beach fans, as the beaches shelve gently to the sea, providing warm exceptionally shallow water. The eastern end of the beach is known as Potomakia beach. A holiday in Kaminia beach can also make use of the beaches at the resort of Skala which is reached by a winding road around the headland. Nearby Koroni beach and Sisia beach are more inaccessible but well worth the effort.
Holidays in Kaminia Beach – Close to the relaxed resort of Katelios
Kaminia beach holidays can enjoy the nearby resort of Katelios which is walkable from Mounda beach. Katelios has a small harbour and two long curving beaches with shallow water excellent for safe swimming and a few shady waterfront tavernas. While on holiday at Kaminia beach take time to visit Radzaki a charming picturesque village inland from Kaminia. With transport you could visit the resorts of Skala and Poros and the spectacular mountainous interior.
