Holidays in Kamari – A popular fun Santorini beach resort
Kamari is 6 miles south-east of Fira in the middle of the east coast of Santorini. Kamari holidays are very much centred on miles of sandy beach and the bars, tavernas and restaurants that run alongside. Kamari beach is miles long, has clear water and superb views across the Ionian Sea. Holidays in Kamari offer a splendid long sandy beach and plenty of fun at night in dozens of bars, restaurants and discos. Kamari holiday nightlife is probably the busiest outside Fari and centres on the beach road where you will find dozens of restaurants, bars and a few discos. There’s even a very good open-air cinema. Quieter romantic restaurants and more traditional architecture can be found in Kamari village.

A short spectacular drive south will bring you to Santorini’s other famous beach at Perissa.

Kamari holidays offer plenty of boat trips, either along the spectacular coast or to neighbouring islands and beaches. Small fishing boats make trips to Anafi Island. Holidays in Kamari are not complete without visiting at least a couple of Santorini beauty spots like Oia, a fascinating jumble of narrow streets full of stone steps, terraces, courtyards, leafy squares, blue-domed churches and tastefully restored stone houses or Fira, the unique sparkling white capital in an astonishing location. While on holiday in Kamari take a look at the ancient remains at nearby Thira which date from 3BC and include an impressive amphitheatre. The 2 mile trip on a winding mountain road is unforgettable and the views from the site are superb.
