Kadikalesi Things To Do

Kadikalesi beaches are an oasis of tranquillity with long sandy beaches and quiet coves sheltered by pine trees and olive groves. As you would expect from an area where the temperature can reach up to the 35C mark there is an abundance of water activities including jet-skiing, windsurfing and diving.

 

There are some excellent restaurants and family run taverns in Kadikalesi especially along the coastal area. Fresh seafood dishes and hearty Turkish meals are a staple on the menu and the prices are very reasonable. For a more cosmopolitan selection of first class restaurants head to nearby Bodrum where you can choose from traditional and international restaurants.

 

If you can drag yourself from the beach there is an exciting range of sightseeing attractions in Kadikalesi. Don’t miss the ruins of the Heiropolis with its tombs and mausoleums. Nearby Bodrum offers the spectacular Roman amphitheatre and the beautiful Castle of St Peter. Boat trips along the coast are one of the best ways to explore this area of Turkey and there are half and full day excursions with drinks and dining included.

 

Day trips from Kadikalesi can include Greek Islands such as Kos and Rhodes where you can sample the historic sites or simply lounge on the fabulous beaches. Take a trip to Turquetris and enjoy the fabulous beach and many dining and shopping opportunities. A trip to Bodrum should be included if you wish to sample a larger more cosmopolitan city that mixes traditional Turkey with modern restaurants and bars.
