Jolly Beach Things To Do

things to do in Jolly Beach
Beaches
The main attraction here is the glorious beach, one of the best on the island, which stretches for a mile along the coastline and boasts powdery white sand and warm turquoise waters. With plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, it's an ideal spot on which to just soak up the sun and relax, swim in the Caribbean sea or indulge in more active water sports.

Watersports
From sailing and windsurfing to jet skiing, hobi cats, paddle boats, kayaking, surf biking and deep-sea fishing, there are numerous sporting activities available at Jolly Beach, with daily instruction offered in sailing and windsurfing. Sailing enthusiasts will enjoy the international Regatta held at the resort every February.

Scuba diving
Conditions are excellent for scuba diving and snorkelling equipment can be rented on the beach. Dive tours leave daily directly from the beach itself (Sundays on request), and depart for a wide variety of sites featuring reefs and caves, and an abundance of colourful marine life and tropical fish. PADI training is also available here.

Boat trips
Many boats head out from Jolly Harbour Marina for scenic trips along the coastline, from short journeys aboard glass-bottomed catamarans and cruises around the island, to multi-day fishing charters.

Golf
There are two courses for golf enthusiasts keen to enjoy a relaxing round in the sunshine - Jolly Harbour Golf Course is located in the resort, and offers an 18-hole par 70 championship course, whilst Cedar Valley Golf Club is a short 15-minute drive away.

Sports
Hotels boast swimming pools offering water polo and water aerobics, a cricket centre, volleyball, well-equipped fitness centres and exercise classes for guests looking to keep in shape on their holiday, or just enjoy some family fun together. Indoor entertainment includes games rooms, darts, table tennis and pinball.

Tennis
Jolly Beach has tennis courts available both day and night, and the resorts have tennis pros for those wanting to brush up on technique whilst on holiday. Players can take part in one of the regular weekend tournaments held for both singles and doubles.

Children
For younger visitors, Jolly Beach resort has a Kids Club for children aged 3-12 open from Monday to Friday, and offers varied activities throughout the week. Enjoy nature walks, shell-seeking expeditions and dance lessons, as well as games, arts and crafts projects, films and story-times.

Day trips
A car is recommended for trips around the island, with other beaches to visit being Darkwood Beach, Valley Church Beach and Johnson's Point for a change of scene. Interesting day trips include the historic Nelson's Dockyard with its working docks, the old sugar plantation, Harmony Hall in Brown's Mill, and Fig Tree Drive where the adventurous can take a ride on a zip-line through the lush rainforest.

Nightlife
Jolly Beach is home to one of the best casinos on Antigua, and there are many restaurants, bars and clubs to visit, particularly in the English harbour area, as well as local events such as barbeques, bands and parties to enjoy.
