Summer winds do blow through Jelsa, with the Levant coming in from the east in the morning and the Mistral bringing fresh breezes in the afternoon, with both helping to lower the temperature. Jelsa is in a sheltered position, bordered by two high mountains both side, and protected from the strong, cold northerly winds by high peaks.
