Country Towns
There are a host of traditional towns and peaceful villages to visit in the Jalon Valley, including the main town Jalon, and its smaller neighbours, Lliber, Alcalali and Parcent, which feature medieval Old Towns, churches and traditional Spanish markets.
 
Beaches
The beaches of the Costa Blanca are easily reached, and offer an alternative to the rural peace of the valley. The coastal towns of Altea, Javea, Moraira and Denia are close by and feature everything from Blue Flag sandy stretches to hidden rocky coves. 
 
Walking & Hiking
The Jalon Valley is known as a major walking destination, with the unspoilt hills and mountains of the region hiding a host of marked trails and organised walks, from casual strolls to serious hikes. The valley is home to stunning rural landscapes awash with rolling green hills, rich orchards, fertile vineyards, and charming Moorish villages, with the whole area affording breathtaking countryside and coastal views.
 
Mountain Biking
Mountain biking is another popular activity and a great way to get out and explore the real Spain. The scenic countryside and mountains are home to a host of trails and paths, including a range of challenging rides and organised routes that run through the valley. 
 
Horse Riding
The Jalon Valley has ideal terrain for exploring on horseback, with treks for all level of rider. Trails and bridlepaths run through the countryside and along the coast, and lessons are available at local stables.
 
Sports
Facilities in the area include swimming pools, tennis courts and gyms, and for the more adventurous, paragliding and rock climbing are popular in the Coll de Rates Mountains. Golf is available at a number of local courses, including the course at La Sella, near Denia, Club de Golf Javea and Golf Ifach in Moraira. 
 
Food & Drink
A delight for gourmet-lovers, the region boasts a delicious cuisine which is found in its many restaurants, cafes and tapas bars. Specialities of the Jalon Valley include its almond pastries and cakes, honey, cured hams and sausages, and as a major wine-producing area, the local vintages are highly-rated. Go to a Jalon Valley 'bodega' (wine cellar) to enjoy some regional tastings. 
 
Day Trips
A car is recommended to explore the area, with attractions such as Terra Mitica, Aqualandia and Benidorm's Wildlife Park and all less than an hour away, as well as the ancient town of Xativa, the Algar Falls and the Montgo National Park. The Jalon Valley is well placed for trips to the city of Valencia.
