Weather in Izmir Region – Long hot summers
The Izmir Region lies on the eastern shores of the Aegean Sea on the west coast of Turkey, and incorporates a number of sun holiday destinations, namely Izmir itself, Kusadasi, Cesme, Foca and Ozdere. These resorts enjoy a typically Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and short mild winters. The area boasts plenty to see and do, from touring ancient sights to relaxing on long sandy beaches, with the resorts offering long summer holiday seasons that runs from April to October, when the average temperature is 28C, and there is at least 8 hours of sunshine each day. 
 
Izmir Region Weather - Hot summer sunshine
Thanks to over 300 days of sunshine per year, the Izmir Region boasts an enviable climate, with plenty of warm weather and generally dry conditions all season long. April and May see daytime temperatures of 18C - 23C, 8 - 10 hours of daily sunshine, and a slight chance of showers. As sea temperatures only reach 18C at this time, spring is a great time for hiking, biking, walking and sightseeing in the region, with the sunny weather and lack of humidity creating great conditions for outdoor activities. June in the Izmir Region heats up to 25C, with 13 hours of daily sunshine, and the days begin to get more humid as the season progresses. Sea temperatures in the Aegean reach 22C, making swimming and water sports possible along the coast, and the beaches in the area get much busier. The peak season months of July and August experience high temperatures of up to 32C and as much as 14 hours of blazing sunshine. There is a marked increase in humidity at this time, although the coastal breezes blowing along the shore do help to temper the high heat a little and add some much-needed relief. The Izmir Region sees virtually no rainfall during the summer, and any precipitation comes in the form of occasional light showers. Night-time temperatures reach 20C in July and August, with these warm evenings ideal for touring, alfresco dining and strolling around the resorts, taking in the sights and sounds. By September, humidity begins to decrease, and the region still enjoys wonderful weather, with highs of 27C - 29C and 11 hours of sunshine each day.
 
Weather in Izmir Region - A long summer holiday season
There's still plenty of warm weather in the Izmir Region at the end of the tourist season, with October bringing highs of 20C and at least 8 hours of sunshine each day. Conditions are still good for swimming in the sea, as well as enjoying sporting activities and touring the sights, thanks to a lack of humidity and generally dry conditions. Winters are mild, with temperatures dropping to 10C, and the low season period still seeing 5 hours of daily sunshine, with the chance of up to 144mm of rain in the wettest month of December.
