Our Review of Italy...
Italy’s immensely long coastline offers a tremendous choice of beach resorts, whether its the Amalfi coast and the Neapolitan Riviera in the south, the Latium beaches near Rome, Liguria resorts in the northwest, or superb beaches like Cefalu and Mazzaro in highly atmospheric Sicily. Whether in Rome or Rimini you will be surrounded by architectural treasures, Renaissance art, fascinating history and a rich cultural heritage. Add superb food, fine wine, stylish hotels and villas, hospitable people, beautiful weather and a legendary love of children and you begin to understand Italy’s appeal. Lesser-known regions like Liguria, Le Marche, Veneto and Emilia Romagna can be particularly rewarding. Gorgeously picturesque regions like Tuscany, Calabria, Lombardy, Umbria and Trentino-South Tyrol are ideal for walking and cycling holidays. Visit beautiful lakes like Como and Maggiore, and stunning islands like Capri and Ischia. And the world-famous sights in Venice, Rome, Florence, Pompeii and Pisa can hardly fail to live up to expectations.

“For me Italy outdoes France in terms of food because there are so many little family places that really look after you...even in Rome. There are fantastic classy restaurants in cities like Verona and a brilliant atmosphere in Palermo on Sicily...and great cheap pizza pasta and wine everywhere! A great country for vegetarians too.”
