Islantilla Weather

Islantilla is a modern development on the Costa de la Luz in western Andalusia, located on the border of Portugal. The resort enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with 300 days of sunshine each year and an average annual temperature of 22C. Due to its location facing the Atlantic Ocean, the climate of Islantilla can seem more comfortable than other areas in southern Spain, thanks to the coastal breezes, making it a popular destination for sports enthusiasts and golfers.

 

Spring sees pleasant weather in Islantilla, with April and May seeing average temperatures of 18C - 21C, and 8-9 hours of sun each day. The temperature heats up in June, reaching an average of 25C, with the peak season months seeing an average of 29C, with 11.5 hours of sunshine. Humidity rarely rises above 70%, and the south west winds coming from the Atlantic help to keep the temperatures in check during the height of the summer. Summers are dry, with July and August seeing virtually no rainfall. Water temperatures in Islantilla reach 21C in June, and by August have risen to 25C, making conditions ideal for swimming, water sports and sailing. Autumn in Islantilla still sees an average temperature of 27C during September, with October reaching 22C, and a pleasant 7.5 hours of sun. Both the spring and autumn months, with warm weather and plenty of sunshine, are popular times for golfing in Islantilla.

 

Temperatures in January and February remain at 16C, with the resort still seeing a high amount of daily sunshine - a minimum of 5 hours. Winter sees the wettest weather in Islantilla, with December being the rainiest month.
