Isla Canela Things To Do
Beaches
Isla Canela separates Spain and Portugal, and the two countries meet here. A great place for a dual destination holiday, just a few miles apart! The Playa Canela beach is a Blue Flag beach, clean as a whistle, four miles or so of golden sand and a firm favourite with Spanish holidaymakers. There are loads of excellent beach bars and places to eat, many of which serve fresh seafood straight from the sea, off the last boat.
Water Sports & Marina
Isla Canela’s pretty marina is home to a great choice of popular water sports as well as plenty of good restaurants and bars to relax and recover in afterwards. Try diving, windsurfing and waterskiing for a start, then take things from there! If you prefer things a bit less lively, test drive a fishing trip or try sailing.
Natural Isla Canela
Isla Canela is an island separated from the mainland by a river, just joined by a bridge at Ayamonte by a bridge. The island’s dunes and interior feature interesting and varied wildlife, birds and plants. Popular with walkers, the island’s hiking trails take you through some truly beautiful natural landscapes.
Golf
They’re hot on golf here and if you’re a golfer you’ll appreciate the joys of the nearby Isla Canela Campo de Golf, an 18 hole championship course that’ll give you a good run for your money. You’ll find it between Ayamonteand Playa Canela beach.
