The development of Isla Canela is situated on an island connected to the mainland by bridge over the River Guadiana, surrounded by an area of natural beauty, with rolling hills and valleys. Isla Canela boasts over 7km of wonderful beaches, and the whole development encompasses over 1,760 hectares. The Blue Flag beach, with its golden sands, is backed by sand dunes and pine trees, and a wide variety of watersports are available here, including diving, wind-surfing and water-skiing. The recreational marina complex at Isla Canela offers sailing and fishing trips, and boats can frequently be seen navigating the busy waterways and network of canals. The island is home to many great restaurants and bars, and a trip over the bridge to the sleepy Andalucian town of Ayamonte offers some great Spanish tapas bars.

Isla Canela has been developed in a peaceful unspoilt part of Spain, with the nearby wildlife reserves only adding to the natural beauty and tranquility of the area. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet there are plenty of activities on the island for those not content to just lie on the uncrowded beaches. There is an 18-hole golf course on Isla Canela, and facilities for tennis, paragliding and cycling. Hire a car and visit the nearby Andalucian towns such as Ayamonte, Villablanca and Lepe, or venture further afield and spend a day in Seville, just an hour away.
