International Drive Area Weather

The International Drive Area is located in Orlando in Central Florida, and offers a convenient base for visiting the areas' major attractions. The region is known for its hot weather, wonderful blue skies and abundant sunshine, and welcomes many visitors each year, particularly during the dry winter season. Orlando and the International Drive Area sees more temperate weather than the rest of Florida, particularly the southern areas, and is not affected so much by tropical storms and hurricanes that blow through the coastal areas.  

 

The winters see lovely warm weather with low humidity and limited rainfall, making ideal conditions for touring the theme parks and the rest of Orlando’s attractions. There's plenty of sunshine, with even the coolest months seeing 7 hours each day, and temperatures ranging from 21C - 23C. Night-time temperatures hover between 9C - 15C, meaning ideal conditions for long days in the parks and evenings out visiting local restaurants. International Drive Area sees limited rainfall during the busy winter months, with a monthly average of around 50mm from November to February, and 60mm - 100mm from March to May. March and April do experience a slight increase in humidity, with May seeing more uncomfortable levels still.     

 

The humidity does start to increase dramatically in May, and from June to September conditions can be very hot and sticky each day. Rainfall increases in June, rising to 170mm during the month, with August being the wettest period, receiving almost 200mm of rain, and the region seeing a consistent 160mm - 170mm each month until October. Most of the rain comes in the form of heavy showers each afternoon, often accompanied by thunderstorms, but there is still plenty of sunshine seen each day, too.
