Hewanorra is in the south of this idyllic tropical island and is an ideal location for exploring the colourful mountainous rainforests of the interior and the superb coastline, or for just finding a quiet cove and relaxing under the perfect blue skies. Nearby hotels tend to be low-rise with all kinds of facilities – from fitness rooms, spas, gardens and pools – or all-inclusive resort hotels and appeal to families, couples, or water sports and diving enthusiasts. There are excellent beaches and dive sites within easy reach and Hewanorra’s location at the southern point of the island means that both the Caribbean west coast of the island, with its gentle, warm waters, and the rougher Atlantic east coast, favoured by surfers and wind-surfers, are both within easy reach. Hewanorra Holidays - Perfect for exploring this idyllic Caribbean island
Hewanorra nightlife tends to be centred on the hotels with music, cabarets and beachside barbeques, but the islanders are known for their love of music and partying, and traditional chak-chak music and reggae can often be heard coming from local bars. Anyone who enjoys jazz should look out for the St Lucia Jazz Festival in May. Food varies from international cuisine to local delicacies such as callaloo, a soup or side dish with a distinctive green colour, and of course superb seafood, including lobster and jackfish. Nearby sights include volcanic sulphur springs and the Pitons, two spectacular volcanic peaks designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Although St Lucia is not a large island and any Hewanorra holiday would probably include a trip to the capital Castries and the surrounding area.
