Helengeli Island Resort Weather

Helengeli Island Resort lies in the North Male Atoll, about 15 miles from the capital, Male. This beautiful and very natural resort boasts a hot tropical climate, ideal for relaxing beach holidays, with the weather well-suited to peaceful sunbathing, swimming, and active water sports. The resort sees high temperatures all year round, with the weather affected by two distinct seasons that dominate the Maldives - the dry and the rainy season.

 

The tourist season in Helengeli Island Resort is dictated by the northeast and southwest monsoons which blow through the islands and bring both dry hot weather and rainy humid conditions. With the dry northeast monsoon affecting the resort from November to March, the best time to visit Helengeli Island Resort is during the British winter, when daytime temperatures hover around 30C - 31C, and there is between 8 - 9 hours of sunshine each day, with a comfortable level of humidity. January to March sees the driest conditions, with around 65mm - 90mm of rainfall each month, and very pleasant evening temperatures of between 25C - 26C. The weather heats up in March, with the advent of spring seeing the arrival of the southwest monsoon.

 

Humidity increases in April, and the island sees the hottest weather of the year, with temperatures rising to 32C and the sun shining for 9 hours each day. Summers see constant temperatures of 30C, but the level of rainfall increases dramatically, with Helengeli Island Resort receiving 211mm in May, and a steady amount - around 200mm - every month until October. Then, the resort sees its wettest weather in October, with 229mm of rainfall, but the sun still shining for 8 hours each day and daytime highs of 30C.
