Since the 1970s Hayes and Jarvis's have been an important, UK based, long-haul tour operator specialising in holidays to exotic destinations worldwide. Founded in 1952 with holidays to East Africa, a portfolio of destinations has gradually been built up. Hayes and Jarvis now operate to 55 destinations worldwide, spanning the Indian Ocean, Far East, Africa, Middle East, North America and the Caribbean.

In August 1998 Hayes and Jarvis was acquired by First Choice plc. First Choice Holidays merged with the tourism division of TUI AG, Thomson Holidays, in September 2007. In 1995 Hayes and Jarvis launched the UK's first worldwide scuba diving holiday programme.
