Wednesday, 23 January 2008

hayes & jarvis holidaysTripAdvisor has released preliminary results of the deal which saw its hotel reviews integrated onto the Hayes and Jarvis website last July. It was the first time that a tour operator had reviews from TripAdvisor and today’s results suggest the deal has been a success with visitors who read the reviews converting at twice the rate of those who didn't.

The five most recent TripAdvisor reviews and ratings are displayed on over 80% of Hayes & Jarvis' hotel pages, with the travel community confirming that users viewing hotel reviews o n the Hayes & Jarvis website tend to book holidays at twice the rate of those who have not seen the TripAdvisor reviews, whilst 20% of visitors to the hotel description pages are found to click on the "Read Reviews" button.

Hayes & Jarvis Head of E-commerce and Publishing, Tim Clarke said: "We believe that TripAdvisor reviews and ratings are a trusted and very current resource that helps our consumers make decisions on their holiday choices...Having unedited user-generated content on our site reinforces our relationship with our customers by fostering the feeling of trust we've established."

Hayes and Jarvis holidays celebrated its 55th year of creating specialist holiday itineraries for travellers in 2007. Since the 1970s Hayes and Jarvis's have been an important, UK based, long-haul tour operator specialising in holidays to exotic destinations worldwide. TripAdvisor's brand distribution director, Nathan Clapton added: "To see proof that the addition of TripAdvisor reviews not only benefits the consumer but also drives conversions for travel companies is very exciting”.
