Beaches
Halkidiki boasts the longest coastline on mainland Greece, and is home to some spectacular beaches, many of which have been awarded the EU Blue Flag of excellence. Spend your holiday just relaxing on the golden sands backed by shady green pines, where the shallow warm waters offer family-friendly bathing.

Water sports
The clear blue waters of the Aegean are the ideal place to enjoy some active water sports, with water temperatures of up to 25C in the summer. Choose from leisurely pedalo rides, canoeing, fishing and wind surfing, to more exhilarating water skiing, sailing and parasailing.

Scuba-diving
Halkidiki is regarded as the 'secret paradise of Greece', and offers fantastic conditions for scuba-diving. With excellent visibility, the coastline boasts a host of fascinating marine life, as well as the famous Mitilini wreck and numerous tunnels and caves, and a good choice of professional schools and centres for instruction at every level.

Sports and leisure
For those not content with just relaxing in the sunshine, the wide range of resorts and hotels in Halkidiki offer plenty of options. WIth facilities for tennis, squash, volleyball, mountain biking, mini-golf and golf, visitors can be as active as they choose.  

Horse-riding
The pine forests that cover Halkidiki offer a wealth of trails and paths, making the region ideal for discovering on horseback. Whether you are looking to get off the beaten track and head off into the verdant hillsides, or trek along the sands taking in the stunning coastline, horse-riding is a great way to see the natural beauty of the region.
