Long-haul holidays are on the increase according to a report from the Post Office. With currency fluctuations across the globe, the Post Office suggests that the pound has gained ground on many long-haul destinations whilst weakening against the Euro.
It is expected that the opening of the New Acropolis Museum will provide a boost to Greek tourism when it opens towards the end of the year. The new Museum, which has cost €13 million to construct, will exhibit 4,000 artefacts within 14,000 square meters of exhibition space.
HATTA, the association of Greek travel agents' have reassured UK agents and tourists over the impact of the forest fires which have swept the country, insisting that it is business as usual for tourists.
Greece is in need of cheaper regional airports in order to maximise its potential within the growing low-cost airline industry according to EasyJet founder, Stelios Haji-Ioannou.
It has been announced by the World Economic Forum that Greece is 24th amongst 124 nations in the overall rankings for the Travel and Tourism Competitive Index.
