Gouvia – Home to Corfu’s main marina
Gouvia is home to Corfu’s main marina and has a strong seafaring history going back to its days as a Venetian naval base. Gouvia remains popular with the island’s rich and famous boat owners. There are some impressive homes and costly yachts to be found in Gouvia harbour. Gouvia sits in a tightly curving natural bay, 5 miles north-west of Corfu Town and Corfu airport, on the east coast of the island. Gouvia feels self-contained and a little secluded due to its setting even though it is so close to the capital.

Shopping in Gouvia is better than average and Corfu Town, connected by regular buses, offers even more. A holiday in Gouvia could include a visit to the Lagoon water park, quieter spots in the hills, and Danilia, a Greek folklore centre built in traditional Greek style. The resort of Dassia is also close to Gouvia.
