Gouvia Holidays – Home to Corfu’s main marina
Gouvia is home to Corfu’s main marina and has a strong seafaring history going back to its days as a Venetian naval base. The town remains popular with the island’s rich and famous boat owners. There are some impressive homes and costly yachts to be found in Gouvia harbour. The resort sits in a tightly curving natural bay, 5 miles north-west of Corfu Town and Corfu airport, on the east coast of the island. Gouvia feels self-contained and a little secluded due to its setting even though it is so close to the capital.

Gouvia Holidays – A little of everything
A holiday here offers a little of everything. There is plenty of cosmopolitan life, some excellent restaurants, and lively nightlife. There is a choice of beaches and some quieter more secluded spots for bathing. There is not one beach at Gouvia but several, of sand, shingle and pebbles. Tiny coves are also to be found close to the town centre. Swimming is safe for children. Access to a Gouvia beach is easy from anywhere in the village. Beach activities here include paragliding, diving and most water sports. You can go horse riding and explore the lush hills, olive groves and citrus plantations that surround the resort.

Holidays to Gouvia – Popular with locals too
Gouvia accommodation is varied and largely family orientated and there are renowned restaurants here thanks to its popularity with Corfu Town locals who come to enjoy the resort and dine well. The resort nightlife is also varied and lively, with tavernas, bars and clubs. Gouvia breaks combine with nearby Kontokali to the south, another enjoyable and slightly more peaceful resort with plenty of boats, tavernas, the sandy Kontokali beach and clear water. Shopping here is better than average and Corfu Town, connected by regular buses, offers even more. A cheap holiday in the area could include a visit to the Lagoon water park, quieter spots in the hills, and Danilia, a Greek folklore centre built in traditional Greek style. The resort of Dassia is also close to Gouvia.
