Gharb Weather

Gharb is the most westerly village on Gozo, and like the rest of the island, enjoys a Southern Mediterranean climate. The village sees hot dry summers and wetter mild winters, with plenty of sunshine - over 300 days throughout the year. Spring and summer are the most popular times for a holiday in Gharb.

With temperatures around 16C - 19C and between 7 and 9 hours of sun each day, the spring months of April and May prove to be a pleasant time to visit, especially for those looking to tour the island and its ancient sights, or explore the countryside on foot or by bike. Temperatures heat up in June, with an average of 22C, and by the peak summer months of July and August the temperature in Gharb has reached 27C, with up to 12 hours of sunshine. July is the driest month in Gharb, with virtually no rainfall. Being inland, the village does not get the benefit of the coastal breezes, so can seem hotter and more humid than other towns. The sandy and rocky beaches of the coastal resorts nearby prove popular day trips during the summer. With water temperatures reaching 26C, the warm waters of the Mediterranean offers fantastic conditions for swimming and scuba diving. 

September sees the temperature begin to lower, dropping to 24C, and by October the average daily temperature is 20C. Winters in Gharb see lows of 13C during the coldest months of December and January, but still see 5 hours of sunshine. December sees the most rain in Gharb, with an average of 111mm of rain.
