With temperatures around 16C - 19C and between 7 and 9 hours of sun each day, the spring months of April and May prove to be a pleasant time to visit, especially for those looking to tour the island and its ancient sights, or explore the countryside on foot or by bike. Temperatures heat up in June, with an average of 22C, and by the peak summer months of July and August the temperature in Gharb has reached 27C, with up to 12 hours of sunshine. July is the driest month in Gharb, with virtually no rainfall. Being inland, the village does not get the benefit of the coastal breezes, so can seem hotter and more humid than other towns. The sandy and rocky beaches of the coastal resorts nearby prove popular day trips during the summer.
