Water Sports
Lake Garda offers a huge range of water sports, including windsurfing, kite surfing, sailing, jet skiing, diving and snorkelling, with various schools and centres for guests to use.
Boat Trips
From paddleboats to catamarans, kayak to speedboats, Lake Garda has every kind of boat rental, and there is fishing available year-round.
Beaches
With over 45km of beaches to choose from, visitors to Lake Garda have ample opportunity to lie back, relax and enjoy the scenery. Most of the beaches are shingle, and as the water is generally warm and calm, swimming conditions are ideal.
Sports
Away from the water, there are plenty of sports to try, including tennis, swimming pools, golf, mini-golf, squash, volleyball, rock climbing and paragliding.
Walking & Hiking
The lake offers endless trails and routes to follow, ranging tremendously in difficulty, from leisurely waterside strolls to challenging rugged hikes. There are cable-cars for mountain access, and walkers are treated to some spectacular views across the lake.
Mountain Biking
Cycling is a very popular activity here, and bikes can be rented throughout the lake. There's some incredible terrain to cover, from scenic trails around the lake, to more strenuous itineraries through the mountains - ideal for serious bikers to navigate.
Theme Parks
There are a number of theme parks and water parks throughout the area, including Gardaland, a Disney-like attraction and CanevaWorld AquaParadise, one of the largest water parks in Europe.
Festivals
Lake Garda in Italy hosts a number of festivals, mostly focusing on the food and drink of the area. They include the January Olive festival in Torri del Benarco, the May wine festival in Bardolino, the September Grave festival also in Bardolino and the October Honey Festival in Lazise. The Verona Opera season runs from July to September, and is a true spectacle, hosted in the impressive Roman amphitheatre.
