Our Review of Gambia...
Gambia is a paradise for beach connoisseurs and serious sunbathers, with hot, tropical, sunny weather all year round. Relaxed beach resorts, short airport transfers and the manageably compact nature of the country make this an ideal choice for family holidays in Africa. Local accommodation has improved immensely in recent years as tourism has become more established. Cheap hotels for backpackers have been joined by stylish, elegant luxury hotels to rival any in Africa. Package holidays to this part of Africa naturally focus on the superb, long, soft, sandy beaches. Relaxed resorts like Bijilo and Kotu attract a nice mix of independent travellers, couples and families. Picturesque Cape Point boasts a superb tropical location. Beaches like Kololi feature characterful bars and charmingly relaxed nightlife. While Gambia does not offer the big game safaris of countries like Kenya, there are plenty of exotic sights in pleasantly low-key, unspoiled wildlife parks like the Bijilo Forest Park. The region is an internationally renowned birdwatching destination. Aside from the beaches, the biggest attraction here is the highly atmospheric River Gambia. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere, even in the enjoyable capital Banjul, makes Gambia a fine, gentle introduction to Africa.

Customer Reviews of Gambia...

“Go to Gambia while it still remains a bit of a secret. The beaches are wonderful and there’s a great sleepy relaxed tropical feeling. Our pretty hotel in Kololi was perfect for doing very little.”
Ms H Dunn, Crawley UK

“Gambia has opened our eyes to what’s on offer in Africa. Some lovely excursions, especially the Gambia River boat trip which was really atmospheric.”
Mrs A Gray, Edinburgh UK

“One of our best ever winter holidays. Our first time in Africa and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Fantastic weather and a lovely resort (Bijolo). First class accommodation and service. Very cheap too. Our children loved the tour on the back of a truck and were thrilled by the monkeys in the trees.”
Mrs Y Kennedy, London UK
