Frigiliana Weather

Located just 5 miles inland on the eastern end of the Costa del Sol in Spain, the small village of Frigiliana enjoys a typically-Mediterranean climate. Situated on the southern slopes of the foothills of the Almijara Mountains, Frigiliana sits high on a ridge overlooking the coast at an altitude of 300m, and experiences a special micro-climate, seeing dry weather featuring hot summers and mild winters, with an average annual temperature of 18C.

Days are warm on a holiday in Frigiliana in the springtime, with March and April temperatures of 15C - 16C being ideal for exploring the scenic countryside and sightseeing. The weather can be fairly changeable during the spring, seeing around 50mm - 70mm of rainfall during this time. May sees much less rain - 16mm falling in the month - and this drier weather is accompanied by highs of 18C and a glorious 9 hours of daily sun. June, July and August see virtually no rainfall in Frigiliana, temperatures of 25C and sunshine for 11 hours each day. Hot summer days can be spent in the shade of the village squares, bars and restaurants, or on the beach at the neighbouring resort of Nerja.

 

October and November experience more rain - around 90mm - 100mm respectively, with December seeing the wettest weather in Frigiliana, receiving 181mm each month. January and February are the coldest months, with temperatures of 12C, but still see 6 hours of sun each day.
