France is a Mediterranean jewel that boasts hot summers and abundant sunshine. Temperatures during the hottest months of July and August can hit the 30C mark, providing around 11 or 12 hours of sunshine per day. Rain will hardly fall during the summer season although there may be the occasional, short-lived thunderstorm.  During April and May the weather can be slightly changeable but the weather in France during this time will still hit the 20C mark.  Holidays in France during the winter months are becoming increasingly popular due to the very mild climate.

The weather in France will make it ideal if you are searching for sun drenched beaches lapped by warm waters. The warm waters make beach resorts ideal for water sports such as swimming, snorkelling and wind-surfing. Travelling inland and exploring the mountainous regions and little villages will take the edge from the summer heat before hitting the beach again.

Weather in France - Mild, sunny winters, perfect for a winter break
The weather in France is never less than mild the whole year round.  The temperature in December and January does not generally dip below around 14C, although the five hours of sunshine per day may be interrupted by infrequent cold mistral winds. Spring sees France becoming lush and vibrant with the poppies and violets blooming. The temperatures in April begin to hit the 20C mark for around eight hours per day, making a holiday in France the perfect choice for an Easter break.
