Nicknamed the 'Venice of America', a holiday in Fort Lauderdale is a boater's paradise, thanks to its shoreline and series of canals. Visitors can enjoy coastal sightseeing cruises, jungle tours, glass-bottomed boat rides with snorkelling excursions, powerboat rentals, airboat rides, game fishing trips, yacht charters and boat rides along the famous intercoastal waterways.
Fishing
A major fishing destination, Fort Lauderdale offers many sport and deep-sea trips. Visitors can try their luck catching some of the area's finest kingfish, grouper and snapper on a range of varied trips.

Shopping
Fort Lauderdale is a great place to stock up on goods and souvenirs, and is home to major outlet malls (including the huge Sawgrass Mills), complexes, upscale shopping villages and small boutiques on Riverwalk, and specialist stores such as fishing shops. The city also boasts the largest daily flea market in the world, the 'Swap Shop'.
