Fonta Santa Weather

Fonta Santa lies in the Central Algarve, just east of Quarteira and a short distance from the luxury development, Vilamoura. The resort is situated in a peaceful rural area, with easy access to beaches and the surrounding countryside, and the weather is ideal for all activities such as sunbathing, water sports, golf and tennis. The sun shines for up to 12 hours a day during the summer, with temperatures in Fonta Santa often reaching 30C. 

 

Summers are dry and hot in Fonta Santa, with an average temperature of 27C - 28C during July, August and September and virtually no rainfall. Water temperatures in Fonta Santa are a pleasant 21C during the height of the summer, meaning great conditions for swimming, relaxing on the beaches and by the pools, and enjoying the many water sports available. The mornings and late afternoons are the best time for a round of golf, with night time temperatures remaining at 17 -18C. May and June see average highs of 22C - 25C, water temperatures of up to 19C and 7 - 8 hours of sunshine. Spring and autumn temperatures hover at 18C - 19C, and still see 7 hours of sunshine.

 

Winter in Fonta Santa remain mild, with temperatures only dropping to 16C during December and January. These months still see between 5 and 6 hours of sunshine each day, and an average rainfall of 98mm. Night time temperatures in the winter drop to 8C - 9C.
