Weather in Fodele - Hot dry summers in mountain village
The charming mountain village of Fodele lies inland on the north coast of Crete, just 18km from the capital, Heraklion. Like other resorts on the island, Fodele enjoys a typically-Mediterranean climate, with hot dry summers and mild winters, and also boasts a long holiday season running from April to October.   
 
Fodele Weather - Long summer season, plenty of sunshine each day
A spring holiday sees pleasant warm weather in Fodele, with March and April experiencing highs of 15C - 19C, and an average of 6 - 8 hours of sunshine each day. The village sees just 38mm of rain during April (the start of the season) and the night-time temperature is 11C, meaning evenings are still chilly. In May, the highs have reached 23C, with 10 hours of daily sunshine, and by June, the temperature rises to 27C, with a slight increase in humidity. The peak season months of July and August experience very hot weather, with temperatures as high as 28C, and throughout the summer, Fodele sees a constant 12 hours of sunshine each day.  Rainfall is extremely limited at this time, with the village receiving a monthly average of less than 8mm from June to September, and a very warm night-time temperature of 20C. Down by the coast, the waters of the Mediterranean reach highs of 25C in the Bay of Fodele, meaning ideal conditions for swimming and water sports.
 
Weather in Fodele - Mild wetter winters
Autumn remains warm in Fodele, with September seeing highs of 26C, and October only dropping down to 22C, with the sun still shining during these late-season months for between 6 - 10 hours. Rain increases in October, with 95mm of rain falling during the month, rising to 83mm in November, and 120mm in December and January. These winter months remain mild, with even the coolest months of January and February seeing highs of 14C.
