Ferragudo Weather - Pleasantly warm and sunny throughout the year
The charming resort of Ferragudo enjoys an idyllic summer climate of perpetual sunshine and clear and cloudless skies with very minimal rainfall. Winters are mild and unsurprisingly more changeable yet it still receives a fair amount of sunshine and outdoor activities are still possible throughout the low season. Rainfall is usually restricted to autumn, where it can fall in heavy showers and from January to March. Cold fronts are very rare due to the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and humidity is low. A summer’s day on the beach will enjoy very warm sea temperatures and cool sea breezes.

Extreme heat is a rarity in Ferragudo, thanks to the moderating Atlantic and its sea breezes, yet the record of sunshine is among the best in Europe with virtually no rainfall during high season months. Up to 12 hours every day will see bright sunshine with evenings light until 9pm and temperatures may reach 29c on average for August. Long spells of dry weather can cause water shortages throughout the Algarve which should in no way impact on a holiday, but can be seen in the changing face of the countryside as it becomes starved of moisture. Thankfully weather in Ferragudo never sees the high oppressive temperatures experienced in other parts of Iberia. If rain occurs during high summer it is likely to be a brief heavy downpour which may become thunder.

Ferragudo Weather - Mild and inviting winter temperatures
Continuing fine bright weather should be enjoyed in autumn although some interruptions are inevitable as seasonal downpours often occur but are not usually prolonged. Mild winter sunshine will reach temperatures approaching 20c with as much as 7 hours of sun each day. Sea temperatures start to fall sharply and by December may be too chilly for bathing for most people. Mid winter sees some unsettled weather in Ferragudo where crisp sunshine can alternate with drizzle and overcast skies yet still maintaining comfortable temperatures.
